A HISTORY OF VICTORY AND SELF DISCOVERY

History Books do not really tell us what the remains on land show us.

In 1947, when midnight struck on the 15th of August, an independent nation was born. It was back then that India began its new journey of freedom, liberty and self-discovery.

Ever since, India has always been rolling to discover its true self, to materialise what our forefathers had always dreamt of and convey the real meaning of Unity in Diversity. The journey wasn't a journey of years but that of more than a century.

Just after the era of the Maharajas began to decline, India was submerged under the spread of colonialism that came in through trade from the coasts and finally infested to what came to be known as The East India Company. After, being constantly ruled by the Mughals, the Portuguese and finally by the British, it was in the 1920s after 100s of years, that India finally sought for self-governance, a mark towards the new beginning in the Indian Independence Movement. Under the guidance and leadership of visionaries and patriots, movements like the Non-Co-operation Movement, The Quit India Movement and the Civil Disobedience Movement shook the pillars of the British Raj. From the shores of Bengal to those of Surat and from the Valleys of Kashmir to the Islands of Andaman, every bit of land has a story of its own to narrate.

As Albert Einstein once rightly said, "Generations to come will scarce believe that such a one as this ever in flesh and blood walked upon this earth", Mahatma Gandhi believed in nothing but truth and Non-violence. Not just Gandhi, but every Indian irrespective of culture, creed, caste or language, merged for the unity of one free nation. The marks of this struggle are still seen on the walls of this land.
